The British Charitable Fund gives help and material support to British citizens (and related) in need. They are looking for a home visitor. The volunteer needs to be English speaking and with own transport. Some knowledge of Belgium social and administrative system is useful. Sunbeams.eu tries to help reduce our negative impact on the environment through many different projects: for example, they offer information about "eco" ways of living (where you can buy organic food, how to save energy etc.) and they also have a "tree planting event" in March 2012. FACE for children in need is a Belgian non profit organization which helps orphans in Cairo. They have already created four orphanages, a Mother and Child support center, training programs for the staff manning the orphanages etc. They can use all the help they can get, including from English speakers of Brussels. ADHD – ASC – DYSLEXIA Family Resources Belgium
We are a busy non-profit organisation whose aim it is to provide support, information, and resources (parent training, workshops, courses, and an annual conference) for parents of children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Dyslexia, etc. as well as their teachers, therapists, tutors and coaches. This involves working closely with the international and European schools in Belgium, offering the Diploma in ADHD & ASC Coach Training with NLP once or twice year and Special Needs Tutor Training on an ongoing basis so that we have a good supply of qualified professionals available to work with the children and adolescents with one or more of these conditions.
Chairman – BRIDFAS is an affiliate of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies in the UK, and as such the Chairman represents our society on both an international level as well as a domestic one. This involves attending a couple of large annual meetings in London as well as presiding over small committee meetings in Brussels. The Chairman also has a social role and greets members and guests at our regularly scheduled talks and special events.
